Who we are
Phortex Campus is a college and university guidance service operated by Phortex LLC. Questions: hello@phortexcampus.com.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email address and sign-in details, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Profile information you choose to give us — whether you're a parent or student, the student's first name, graduation year, school and areas of interest.
- Files and messages exchanged as part of advising.
- Contact form submissions — processed by Formspree and delivered to us by email.
- Basic security logs — for example, when a file is downloaded, and the IP address used.
We do not ask for or store Social Security numbers, financial aid account logins, tax returns or payment card numbers in the portal.
How we use it
Only to provide our services: personalizing your dashboard, sharing materials with your family, advising, and keeping the service secure. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
AI-assisted tools
Some portal tools use an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to generate feedback. Text you submit to these tools is sent to the provider to produce a response and is not stored by Phortex Campus. Please leave out last names and other personal details. AI feedback is guidance, not a substitute for your advisor.
Students and minors
Our services are designed for high school students and their families. Students under 13 may not create their own accounts; a parent or guardian must sign up. Parents may ask to review or delete their student's information at any time.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, Clerk). Files are stored privately and are only available to signed-in users with permission; downloads are logged. Advisor accounts require multi-factor authentication.
Your choices
You can update your profile at any time from the portal, and you can ask us to export or delete your information by emailing hello@phortexcampus.com.
Service providers
Cloudflare (hosting, storage), Clerk (sign-in), Formspree (contact form), Anthropic (AI tools), and Microsoft (email). Each processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy terms.
